Mobile Dental Clinic – X-Ray Sensor Replacement
Grantee: Medical Teams International
Timeframe: October 2024 – December 2024 | Amount: $15,000
Medical Teams International plans to purchase (2) new Fiber Optic Digital X-Ray Sensors to replace current and outdated imaging systems that no longer work at optimum capacity on their mobile dental clinic vehicles. Replacing the phosphor plate and an Apixia Machine X-Ray System will allow Medical Teams to advance the technology used on their mobile dental vehicles to significantly:
(a) increase the clinic staff’s ability to provide services to patients in a timely and accurate fashion
(b) increase Medical Teams ability to utilize technology to share pertinent information with primary care dentists who can provide services for referred patients
(c) reduce the amount of funds required to service their current equipment which is no longer under warranty
When Medical Teams can utilize their technology to its maximum use, time is freed up to allow the clinic team to spend more time directly with patients, which in turn provides a better experience for each patient (particularly patients who may have anxiety or fear around dental care and dental visits).
Medial Teams plans to purchase and install (2) SOTA Imaging Clio Digital X-Ray Sensors in three of their mobile dental clinic vehicles during October 2024. The units will be purchased by the Washington Mobile Dental Clinic Program Manager then purchased via the Medical Teams equipment procurement process. Upon receipt, the mobile dental Senior Information Systems Specialist will install and calibrate the sensors, working with SOTA Imaging staff to ensure proper installation and calibration. If required, the Information Specialist will also provide training to clinic staff. While this project does not require a partnership, Medical Teams will engage SOTA Imaging technical staff to assist them with installation, implementation and troubleshooting.
