An in-person event
8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
8th Floor – Panoramic Room
1200 12th Avenue South, Seattle, Washington 98144
Connect with friends and colleagues
This 11th annual convening of PHPDA Health Equity Fund Major Grantees is an opportunity to connect with the larger community of people you are working alongside to make our region a healthier, more equitable place to live.
Be free to share your challenges
We endeavor to create a safe space for all attendees. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment free of judgment or consequence, a space in which all attendees feel they belong and can actively participate. That’s why this is an invite only event. In addition to grantees, we invite only our closest partners who are champions of your work, which includes our Health Equity Scholars, Governing Council members, and volunteers. We know how hard—and sometimes how sensitive—your work is. We invite you to treat this space with utmost respect, and be courageous to share both the challenges you’ve faced and wins you’ve achieved.
Learn together
Sharing knowledge supports all of us in our work towards systemic change. Every year grantees have the opportunity to share the details of their funded efforts, as well as insights into what works and what doesn’t.
2024 Table Topics:
- Advocacy & Raising Community Voice
- Care Coordination & Navigation
- Engaging Hard to Reach Populations
- Immigrants, Refugees & Asylum Seekers
- Mental & Behavioral Health
- Substance Use & Harm Reduction Services
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I required to attend?
All Major Grantees are required to attend in-person and share briefly about their project or program to their peers. Please check the meeting agenda for your approximate presentation time.
What should I do if I have COVID-19 or am feeling unwell?
Parking? Transit?
Parking will be limited, so we encourage using public transit or carpooling if you plan on driving.
Driving Directions & Parking at Pacific Tower
We will have a limited number of validated parking passes available for those who need them. If you park in the West Parking Garage, please bring your parking ticket to the meeting to receive a validated pass.
The 36 and 60 buses stop right by the Tower. Additional transit options are available in the International District and Beacon Hill. For more details, visit: https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/routes-and-service/schedules-and-maps.
Is it okay for me to attend only part of the meeting?
We encourage you to attend the entire day to fully engage with your colleagues’ work. You might discover new partnership opportunities or innovative approaches that can enhance your own work. Understanding what’s happening in the field strengthens all our efforts. If you need to leave early, please let us know so we can adjust the agenda accordingly.
What am I expected to share about my program?
Each grantee will have five (5) minutes to present on their funded project or program, with the option to use up to five (5) slides (including title and thank you/closing slides).
To maximize your time, please focus on your project/program rather than your organization. Include a brief description of your organization, an overview of the funded project/program and its goals, and insights on what you’re learning, addressing the following relevant questions:
- 2024 New Major Grantees (1st year): What access to care are you aiming to create through your project/program, and for whom? What health outcomes do you hope to achieve?
- 2023 Renewal Grantees (2nd year): What did you learn from your first year? What challenges did you encounter, and what adjustments are you making as a result?
- 2022 Renewal Grantees (3rd year): What were your key learnings over the past three years? What are your plans moving forward based on those learnings?
If you will be using presentation slides, please send your five (5) slides to Whitney at w.regan@phpda.org by end of day Wednesday, November 27th.
Refer to the meeting agenda for your approximate presentation time.
Can I use slides?
You may use up to five (5) slides (PDF, PPT, Canva, or Google Slides), or you can choose not to use any slides at all. If you do plan to use slides, please email them to Whitney at w.regan@phpda.org by end of day Wednesday, November 27th. She will compile them into a single deck to ensure smooth transitions during the presentation.
Can I show a video as part of my presentation?
Yes, just make sure that your total presentation time does not exceed five (5) minutes. If your presentation will include a video, please send it in advance by end of day Wednesday, November 27th to Whitney at w.regan@phpda.org.
Will there be opportunities to share more about my organization with attendees?
There will be informal networking opportunities between agenda items and at lunch. We also encourage you to bring materials about your organization, its programs, and potential board recruitment information to share with the group. We’ll have a table available for this purpose.
Will there be photography or videography of the event?
PHPDA Staff will be taking photos throughout the event and you will have the opportunity to tell us if you prefer not to be included in photos. We will not be videotaping any portion of the event.
Who is attending?
In addition to grantees, we invite only our closest allies who are champions of your work, which includes our Health Equity Scholars, Governing Council members, and volunteers.
If I have more questions, how can I get in touch?
Please email Whitney at w.regan@phpda.org or grants@phpda.org and we’ll be in touch.
