Funding Priorities
Improving health outcomes and access
Communities of Color, particularly African American / Black, Latinx, and American Indian/Alaska Native communities.
Serving underserved geographic areas
such as South King County and rural King County.
Addressing cultural, linguistic, economic, and access barriers
to ensure access for underserved communities to health resources and services.
Providing services
that are not paid for, in part or fully, under currently available coverage programs.
Eligibility
Nonprofit, government, and public organizations may apply. If you do not have nonprofit status, you may be eligible to apply under a fiscal sponsor.
Funding for service delivery is limited to King County. There are no geographic restrictions on the residence of clients served or advocacy efforts, as long as the program can demonstrate the use of funds addressing disparities in health among residents of the Puget Sound region (King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Kitsap counties).
Organizations may not receive two PHPDA grants in the same year for the same
project. Applicants can request grant funds for a different project as long as the
time period covered by funding ends by the new contract period.
2025 Focus Areas
The Health Equity Fund reviews Focus Areas every year. Although applicants are not limited to the following focus areas, strong consideration will be given to projects that address one or more of the following in 2025:
- Immigrant and Refugee health
- Women’s and Reproductive health
- Substance Use Disorder and Harm Reduction Services
How to Apply
Submit a Letter of Intent through the online application system. Letters of Intents will be reviewed by an Ad Hoc review panel appointed by PHPDA’s Governing Council and will determine which projects will be invited to submit full applications.
